03 April 2011 11:22 | I stayed in: Pukana La “Sunrise”
My family of 4 stayed at the "Sunrise" from
March 23 - Ap1, 2011. We were very happy and pleased with the accomodation and location. The Pukala La is very, very close
to the ocean front and this was fantastic. There is nothing like hearing the sound of waves when you wake up in the morning and go to sleep at night. THe house was clean and tidy and kitchen was well stocked with plates, pots etc. I did suggest that there needs to be a way better corkscrew for opening wine bottles as the one that was supplied made it extremely difficult to get a
bottle of wine open. The grounds and outside of the buildings were clean and tidy.
The recycling concept was great. We were so close to the ocean and the breeze that came with being that close allowed us to never need the airconditioner. Elani met us when we arrived and she was great! She provided us with lots of info on where to eat, what to see etc. This is a great place to stay and I will stay here again and I will surely recommend it to my friends.

11 March 2011 15:36 | I stayed in: Hau'ula Lanai “Balcony over Hau'ula”
Awesome place....WE loved it...Oh Joy Oh Bliss...Very clean!! Gorgeous Lanai....Zack and Oti were helpful and very sweet. The place is well cared for and there is always someone around tending to things. Could not have asked for more. We plan to return!!
We had such a nice stay in Hale Alii this winter. The first few days were sunny and the sunrises were magnificent. Sitting on the deck, right at the ocean's edge and watching the sun light up the sky...who could ask for more? Cousin Oti was very helpful, and the accomodations were just great. The deck is getting a little worn, but that didn't keep us away. The hot tub was very relaxing. Enjoyed the area and the small town, more authentic Hawaii experience.

21 February 2011 09:18 | I stayed in: Ehu Kai “Seaspray”
We stayed in the studio in the Ehu Kai cottage; nice kitchen and all the space we needed. One night of high tide and high winds, the waves were splashing up on the little seawall and hitting our window. You can't get much closer to the ocean. Cousin Otilani was very nice and handled everything. The black kitten dropped by for a visit every day. Nice local grocery store right up the street. Not much food, but it's all very good; Papa Ole's, Surfin' Tacos, and the Kahuku shrimp trucks. Gorgeous sunrises on your patio. Not surprisingly, your stuff will get damp and salty.
Aloha Elaine and thank you for your review. We are happy you enjoyed the amazing sunrises from Hale Ko'olau and had a relaxing vacation. Being right on the water the salt air does take its toll on the outside of the houses and the decks in remarkably short time. Please know that this year the exterior of all the homes and all the outdoor decks/areas are scheduled for repair & maintenance.
