We loved our get-a-way at Hale Ali'i and are already consiring to reserve the same spot for next year! The beach house was perfecy and we felt so at home and totally relaxed. The roar of the waves 24 hours was *** and we lovedhaving almost all our meals on the deck.

Otilani was a wonderful host and made us feel so welcome...we hated to leave.

This location is definitely away from the Honolulu busy-ness and a real lilttle retreat. Lost of beaches nearby to roam and explore. The public beach at Turtle Bay was super as was their patio bar/grill!

A short hop to either the south or north shores.

We enjoyed the aid back feel of this gem of a property and would recommend it highly! Can you tell?

Aloha

My family and I had a perfect time staying at Nani Kai Hale!! Everything went as promised, except for the rain which no one had control over. We got exactly what we expected--a great house on the beach, quiet relaxed time and wonderful service as needed. We love Oti--she did everyhting as promised and with a great personality and smile. We will go back I am sure.

The Hau'ula Lanai was the best place I've stayed in for any vacation. The lanai with a perfect view of the ocean (and the most photogenic palm tree on the island) was a dream to wake up to every morning and to fall asleep to at night. The location was great away from Waikiki, but central enough to drive anywhere on the island. There was a close grocery store and great food as well. I can't say enough good things about this rental and the people who run it.

Thank you so much , the Ocean House was just the place to spend our vacation . 7 of us stayed there, 3 generations. Going to sleep and waking up to the waves was a dream in itself. We walked the beach everyday with our coffee in hand. I was sure the house would be a close to the ocean as described, but it was. *** simply *** sunrises , weather was perfect 82-85 degrees....1 hour of rain the whole week.
I would recommend this place to anyone, and I have told all our friends and family what a wonderful place. Very clean and quiet, 8 minutes from the PCC, Never more than 1 hour from any main attraction. Don't miss out on a beautiful vacation spot

The Molokai was perfect for us. We spent most of our time running around the island seeing old friends, but it was nice to have a place to come home to and not just some hotel room. All you will need is provided, kitchen, bath etc. Oti Lani was great from check-in to check-out. Will definitely be recommending Hale Ko'olau to friends/family when they come visit.

I was very worried about renting "unseen" over the internet, worried about what we would get when we got there. Let me tell you - I didn't regret for 1 minute our week long stay from Sept. 3 to Sept. 10, 2010. It was the most marvelous, perfect vacation. The beach is right there! We cooked a lot of meals in the wonderful kitchen, walked to a perfectly sufficient grocery store. Every day I visited with Oti and enjoyed talking to her and telling of our previous days adventures. You won't be sorry if you stay here!!!! :grin

We can't say enough about our stay at this beautiful property. When you book over the internet you are always afraid the property will not be as nice as it looks in the photos. No worries here! The property was extremely clean, beautiful furnishings, awesome view..everything was top of the line. That also includes the warm and humorous service from "cousins" Mark and Zack. I think Mark has ESP because it seems every time we had a question he would pop up. We will refer everyone we know to this beautiful house. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My new wife and I could not have picked a better vacation spot for our Honeymoon. The natural beauty of Hawaii was breathtaking right from our beach chairs. We found the house spotless and the hospitality from cousin Mark and Zach was wonderful. When we plan our next trip to the islands we will likely be back and we will recommend this spot to all of our friends. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful beach house with us. We traveled with three generations from Maryland to Hawaii for a UH Graduation and could not have chosen a more perfect place. The "cousins" Mark and Zack were so gracious and accomodating. The "Grannies" especially want to thank Mark for his hospitality and humor! Karen and Oti couldn't have been any nicer and did a superb job of preparing the house for our stay. Can't wait to return!

:p We had a "Girls Only" vacation and decided to go to Hawaii. We wanted a location off the beaten path with privacy in a place where we felt safe and away from the tourist areas. We wanted to experience the true Hawaii. This location provided all that and then some for us. We met Mark the caretaker, who explained everything to us and answered all of our questions. He was wonderful to us. For the price and being right on the water, it was everything we expected and I would definitely stay there again should we return to Hawaii. Thanks Mark and Zack for a wonderful vacation. :p

Our party of four stayed at Hale Mauka for a week in May, 2010. It is perfectly located, a few steps from the beach, approximately an hour from the airport and bustle of Honolulu and Waikiki. We enjoyed the beautiful ocean scenery morning and late evenings and toured the island during the day. We awoke each morning to the sound of the waves crashing, doves cooing in the nearby trees, and of all things, a rooster crowing! The sounds as well as the breezes constantly blowing through the open windows were delightful. There are several very friendly souveneir shops, shrimp trucks, and small dining places on the North Shore, as well as beautiful beaches where you can watch the surfers. We watched a few surfers while relaxing on our lanai. If you are looking for glitz, this is not your place, but if you have children or just want to enjoy the beauty of Hawaii in a relaxed setting, this is it! Thank you, Zack, for providing much needed directions and local information. We had a wonderful time. :)

We thoroughly enjoyed 10 nights, literally on the ocean! The wrap-around views from our vacation home were ever-changing and never ceased to amaze us. A monk seal spent the day at the beach next door and allowed us the privilege of visiting her twice. We swam with the sea turtles just up the road. We ate in but also enjoyed local spots as recommended. The Korean BBQ is not to be missed! The aromas alone will draw you in. Thanks for providing exactly what you offer--a home in the real Hawaii. We've already recommended to others. If our travels take us back to Hawaii, we'll stay again. It was a truly relaxing vacation whether relaxing on the lanai 8) or sleeping soundly every night :zzz
Mahalo & Aloha

We loved the Pukana La, it was just right for our family of 4. It was clean and the air condidtioner cooled it down quickly when needed. We enjoyed the windows being open, the wind while we were there was strong and it cooled the house nicely. We would stay here again. Thank you Cousin Mark and Cousin Zak...

Thanks for asking our opinion!
We stayed at Kai Lani - house was simple and clean and filled our family needs. Two baths and plenty of sleeping room is important, as were all the little extras - outdoor grill and table & chairs, plenty of beach chairs for sunning and enjoying the ocean, hot tubs, loaned boogie boards and snorkelling gear, and we appreciated the "local info" supplied (store info, restaurant, beach info, and driving directions), along with all home amenities. The ice maker in was not working but Cousin Zach supplied the old standby (ice trays), and we weren't at the house much, so there was no complaining (had enough ice for Saturday nite party;).
Luckily, our unit had all separate air conditioners for each room, which suited everyone's comfort level, and was very glad to have washer/dryer available for use.
The location was "country, country" as Captain Ray says, and it couldn't have been more appropriate for our Happy Hawaiian Vacation - far away and removed from city hustle and although a drive to many spots, it was a beautiful drive.
If we choose to stay again, it will be with Hale Ko'olau. Mahalo.

Nice view. The hot tub by the ocean was very nice while watching early morning sunrises. The unit was OK. Nothing great. The air conditioner broke down. The TV system could use some updating. Small TV and it shut off every 20 minutes or so. Need a fan in front room. Gets stuffy.
Admin Comment:Admin comment:
Aloha & thank you for your review. All air conditioners were installed in 2006/07 and with the sea spray they do require constant maintenance. We spoke with Mark, the on-site manager, and he said that there were electric problems coming from the street which caused "brown outs" in several of the houses during the time you were there. This was most likely the source of the problems. HECO has since reinstalled the electric power. We've checked the A/C and Television and both are working fine.
